"Thank You Teachers, For Just Being You"

  • SHARE:

For Teacher Appreciation Week, we asked students from all grade bands to share words of appreciation for their teachers. Today, we hear from an 8th grader.

Dear Teachers,

Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge with the world. I know that you worked very hard to learn all of the information that you share with us now. Thank you for your late nights and long hours of high school and college. Thank you for doing all of that grueling homework and for never stopping halfway. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you for your patience. Thank you elementary teachers for having patience with all of the small children who always need attention. Who always need a helping hand. Thank you middle school teachers for having patience with all of the teenagers who are growing up. Who need help sorting out who they are. Thank you high school teachers for you patience with the young adults who are trying to find their way in this world. Who need your help to find a path. Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for challenging us. Everyone needs a challenge in their life. Thank you for your challenges that teach us important things. Thank you for the challenge of gaining your respect and the challenge of respecting you. Because you deserve it. Thank you for challenges.

Thank you teachers for just being you and letting part of yourself transfer to us young souls. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With thanks,

All your grateful students.
